Hair Quality & Reuse

Can the extensions be reused?

Yes—extension hair may be reused when its condition and your installation method allow.

At Knockout Virgin Hair, we specialize in ethically sourced Raw Indian Hair. Raw Hair is required for our K-Tip and I-Tip installations. For other methods, our Virgin Hair offers a more affordable option.

For clients prioritizing longevity and overall value, we recommend Raw Indian Hair as the best long-term investment in our collection.

Reuse depends on proper home care, maintenance, and the condition of the hair and attachment points. K-Tip hair may require removal of the old bonds and professional rebonding before reinstallation. Your consultation confirms whether your hair is suitable for reuse.

Should I choose Raw Indian Hair or Virgin Hair?

Raw Indian Hair is our recommended choice for clients prioritizing longevity and overall value. It is required for our K-Tip and I-Tip services. Virgin Hair offers a more affordable option for other methods, subject to the texture and product requirements discussed at your consultation.

The right choice depends on your preferred method, styling goals, budget, and care routine. No hair type has a guaranteed lifespan.

Can I return or exchange my hair extensions?

No—all hair extension purchases are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please carefully review your selected texture, length, color, and quantity before submitting payment. If you need help choosing, contact us before placing your order.

Getting Started

Which extension method is right for me?

Your consultation considers your natural hair density, condition, length, lifestyle, and desired result. Dan’Yel recommends the method, placement, and amount of hair suited to your needs. Not every method is appropriate for every client.

Is a consultation required?

Yes. Begin with a consultation so we can assess your hair, discuss your goals, and confirm your method and hair requirements before you purchase hair or reserve an installation.

Is hair included in my installation?

Hair is purchased separately from installation services. After your consultation, purchase the recommended hair through Knockout Virgin Hair and book your installation through Hair by Dan’Yel.

How much hair should I purchase?

Your method, natural density, selected length, and desired fullness determine the amount. Please wait for your personalized recommendation before ordering. The amount needed can vary even between clients requesting the same length.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Follow the preparation instructions provided for your specific appointment. Confirm your hair order, any color services, and what your installation includes in advance. Tell Dan’Yel about current extensions, recent chemical services, scalp concerns, or changes to your hair before your visit.

How much will my service cost and how long will it take?

Pricing and appointment length depend on the method and scope of work. Your consultation confirms your hair requirements and installation plan. Review the current booking menu for service pricing; removal, color, custom bonding, and other additional work should be confirmed before booking.

Is my consultation fee applied toward my installation?

Yes—your consultation fee is credited toward your installation service when the installation is completed within 90 days of your consultation date.

If your installation is not completed within that timeframe, the credit expires. The consultation fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

K-Tips

What hair is required for K-Tips?

Raw Hair from Knockout Virgin Hair is required for our K-Tip installations. Factory-made keratin U-Tips can be customized to your selected bond size. Custom K-Tip bonding is also available and should be discussed during your consultation.

What are K-Tip extensions?

K-Tip extensions are individual strands attached to your natural hair using small keratin bonds. Their strand-by-strand placement allows for customized fullness, movement, and a discreet blend. Dan’Yel offers Traditional, Micro, and Nano options, with bond size and placement selected during your consultation.

How long do K-Tip extensions last?

K-Tips may be worn for approximately 3–6 months, depending on the bonding system, your natural hair growth, home care, and the condition of your hair and attachments. This is a general range—not a guaranteed wear time. Dan’Yel will recommend your individual removal schedule.

Do K-Tips require move-up appointments?

K-Tips do not receive traditional move-ups. The bonds grow out with your natural hair and require professional removal when your installation reaches the end of its recommended wear period. A maintenance refresh or check-in is different from removal and reinstallation.

What affects how long my K-Tip installation lasts?

Your hair growth, natural density, attachment condition, and care routine all influence wear time. Consistent detangling, appropriate cleansing, and careful styling help maintain your installation. Wearing extensions longer than recommended can increase tangling around the attachments; follow your personalized maintenance plan.

How should I care for my K-Tips at home?

Follow the instructions provided for your specific hair texture and bonding system. Your care routine should include:

  • Gentle detangling with an extension-appropriate brush.
  • Conditioner and masks through the lengths, avoiding the bonds.
  • Thorough drying at the roots and attachment areas.
  • Keeping hot tools away from the bonds.
  • Regularly checking and gently separating attachments as instructed.

Dan’Yel will explain the appropriate washing, styling, and nighttime routine for your installation.

Can I reuse my K-Tip hair purchased from Knockout Virgin Hair?

Yes—Dan’Yel offers custom rebonding when the extension hair remains suitable for reuse. Raw Hair from Knockout Virgin Hair is required for our K-Tip installations.

Speak with Dan’Yel before booking so she can assess the hair and confirm your service plan. Removal, custom rebonding, and reinstallation require a two-day service. Scheduling and completion times will be discussed in advance.

When should I contact Dan’Yel about my installation?

Contact Dan’Yel if you notice tangling around the bonds, slipping attachments, discomfort, or significant grow-out—or if you are approaching your recommended removal date. Avoid pulling on attachments or attempting removal yourself.

Can I remove K-Tips at home?

Please book professional removal. K-Tip bonds require an appropriate removal product and technique; pulling or forcing them out can damage your natural hair.

I-Tips

What are I-Tip extensions?

I-Tips are individual extension strands secured to your natural hair with small beads, without heat fusion or adhesive. Placement is customized for your natural density and styling goals. Suitability is assessed during your consultation.

What hair is required for I-Tips?

Raw Hair from Knockout Virgin Hair is required for our I-Tip installations. Your consultation confirms the texture, length, and quantity to purchase.

How are I-Tip extensions installed?

Your service begins with consultation and hair matching. Dan’Yel sections your natural hair and secures individual extension strands with small beads, then blends and styles the finished installation. Placement and the amount of hair are tailored to your needs.

How long does an I-Tip installation take?

An installation may take approximately 3–8 hours, depending on your natural density, the amount of hair, and the scope of work. Please plan for a full salon day. Your expected appointment length will be confirmed before your service.

Can I-Tips damage my natural hair?

Every extension method carries a risk of tension, tangling, or breakage. Appropriate selection, professional application, consistent maintenance, and careful removal help manage those risks. I-Tips are not suitable for every hair or scalp condition. Tell Dan’Yel about any concerns before booking.

How long does I-Tip extension hair last?

I-Tip hair may remain suitable for reuse for approximately 6–12 months with appropriate care, depending on hair quality, attachment condition, and handling. This refers to the extension hair’s potential usable lifespan—not how long one installation should be left in place. Longevity is not guaranteed.

When should I book I-Tip maintenance?

I-Tip bead repositioning is commonly scheduled around 6–8 weeks, but your hair may need an earlier appointment. Follow the personalized schedule Dan’Yel provides. A maintenance refresh, bead adjustment, and full reinstallation are different services; confirm the appropriate booking.

Who may be a good candidate for I-Tips?

I-Tips may suit clients seeking individual strand movement, length, or fullness who can commit to regular maintenance and home care. Your natural density, hair condition, scalp condition, and lifestyle determine suitability.

How should I care for I-Tips?

Use the products and detangling tools recommended for your hair texture and attachment system. Detangle gently from the ends upward, support the roots, dry the attachment area thoroughly, and keep conditioner and oily products away from the beads.

Use a suitable heat protectant on the lengths when heat styling, avoid direct heat on attachments, and follow your personalized nighttime routine.

Are I-Tips worth the investment?

I-Tips can offer a customizable blend of length and fullness with the possibility of reusing suitable hair. Consider the hair purchase, installation, ongoing maintenance, and removal together. Your consultation helps you decide whether the method fits your goals and budget.

Microlinks & Weft Rows

What are Microlink and Weft Row installations?

These services use wefts to add length or fullness with placement tailored to your natural hair. Your consultation determines the suitable technique and number of rows. Your selected service may include IBE, Single Weft, or Double No-Show Weft options.

What is the difference between Single Weft and Double No-Show Weft?

A Single Weft installation offers a classic finish. A Double No-Show Weft installation conceals attachment points between the wefts for a discreet finish and added fullness. Your natural density and styling goals help determine suitability.

Can I book a mini row, one row, or two rows?

Targeted rows may be an option for selected volume or blending goals. A full-head service may require more rows. Your consultation determines whether a mini row, one row, two rows, or a fuller installation is appropriate; row count alone does not determine suitability.

When do Microlinks and Weft Rows need maintenance?

Plan for Microlink refresh appointments every 4–6 weeks unless advised otherwise. Weft row adjustment and reinstallation schedules depend on your selected method and natural hair. Confirm the correct appointment rather than assuming a refresh includes an adjustment or reinstallation.

Tape-Ins

What are Tape-In extensions?

Tape-Ins use adhesive attachment tabs to add length or fullness. Single-sided and double-sided application options are selected according to your natural hair and desired result.

How many Tape-In pieces do I need?

Options may include 40 pieces for Volume Enhancement, 80 for Natural Fullness, or 120 for Luxury Fullness. Your consultation confirms the appropriate quantity and application. Piece count is not the same as the number of completed attachment pairs.

Which is best for me: single-sided or double-sided Tape-Ins?

The best option depends on your natural hair density and desired look. During your consultation, Dan’Yel will assess your hair and recommend the application method and placement suited to your needs.

How long do Tape-In extensions last?

Tape-In installations commonly need professional removal, retaping, and reinstallation around 6–8 weeks, or earlier depending on the adhesive system, hair growth, and attachment condition. Follow the schedule confirmed for your service.

The extension hair may be reused for multiple installations if it remains suitable. Its usable lifespan depends on its quality, care, and condition; it is separate from the wear time of one installation.

Are Tape-In extensions reusable?

Yes—Tape-In hair may be reused if the hair and attachment tabs remain suitable. Professional removal, cleaning, and replacement adhesive are required before reinstallation.

Dan’Yel assesses the hair before confirming reuse. Removal and retaping time depends on the amount of hair and attachment condition; your appointment length and pricing are confirmed before booking.

Sew-Ins & Bond-Ins

Which Sew-In and Bond-In options are available?

Options include Traditional Sew-In, lace closure or frontal installations, Flip-Over, Behind-the-Hairline, and Bond-In services. These methods use different foundations and attachment approaches. Your consultation confirms the suitable service and what it includes.

What is the difference between Traditional, Flip-Over, and Behind-the-Hairline installs?

A Traditional Sew-In typically uses a braided foundation and may include natural hair left out for blending. Flip-Over and Behind-the-Hairline services use customized placement to support the intended styling and blend. Leave-out and parting options depend on your hair and selected service.

Do I need a closure or frontal for a lace installation?

Yes, the correct lace piece is needed for the service you select. A closure and a frontal are different products. Confirm the lace type, dimensions, texture, and any customization requirements at your consultation before ordering.

Is a Bond-In the same as a Sew-In?

No. A Bond-In uses adhesive attachment, while a Sew-In uses stitching to secure the wefts to the selected foundation. Preparation, wear time, removal, and reuse considerations differ. Your consultation confirms suitability and the care plan.

Care & Removal

How do I care for my extensions at home?

Follow the written care instructions for your specific method. These cover cleansing, detangling, drying, heat styling, and nighttime care. Products and techniques appropriate for one attachment method may not suit another. Keep your recommended maintenance appointments.

How long can I wear my extensions?

Wear time depends on the attachment method, natural hair growth, home care, and the condition of your hair and attachments. Dan’Yel provides a maintenance and removal plan. The usable lifespan of the extension hair is different from the length of time one installation should be worn.

Who should remove my extensions?

Book professional removal appropriate to your attachment method. Avoid pulling, cutting, or attempting to force attachments out at home. Contact Dan’Yel before booking if you have an existing installation so the correct service and time can be arranged.
