Fenty Foundations, Lip-gloss and Highlighters Are the Best
In a series of posts, we learned that Fenty Beauty is releasing both a new highlighter and a new shade of Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer — the second ever color of the beloved lip gloss. "The lipgloss that made you fall in love, in a brand new shade! #DIAMONDMILK #GLOSSBOMB is a shimmery wash of pearl that’s like a dewy highlight for your lips! And you KNOW it has the same, ultra nourishing feel of our original gloss bomb, just now in a whole new milky pearl shade.," reads the caption accompanying a photo of four of the glosses, which appear white in their bottles.
A second post about the new Diamond Milk Gloss Bomb shade is a video showing it being applied to forearms with three different skin tones, shimmering almost iridescently on each. "When it feels as good as it looks! The #DIAMONDMILK #GLOSSBOMB has the same shea butter conditioning formula, with an amazing peach-vanilla scent. Rock this dewy highlight for your lips on its own or pair it with your favorite lip color," the caption reads, suggesting it can be layered over other lip products to create a soft, glimmering effect.
The captions also indicate that Diamond Milk Gloss Bomb will be launching on September 7, alongside a new product called Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil, which Fenty Beauty is touting as a winter version of a beloved sold-out product. "This show-stopping, crystal-coated sparkle is a jelly-powder formula melts into your skin like butter and will have you looking like you're dripping in diamonds," says a caption accompanying a picture of the uniquely textured new highlighter. "It gives you a colorless, ultra sparkly sheen that looks beautiful applied as a highlighter on the face or on the body. Did someone say winter #BODYLAVA?!"
A follow-up post shows Diamond Bomb being swatched on the same forearms, with a caption explaining its versatility: "This is how we bathe in diamonds! #DIAMONDBOMB is a colorless, diamond-dusted sparkle that can be applied underneath your foundation for a more subtle glow or on top for a crystal-coated pop! This jelly-to-powder formula is fun to touch and melts effortlessly into the skin." Hold up — underneath foundation? Mind blown.
Foundations To Use When Fenty Foundations Are Out Of Stock
When Rihanna dropped her Fenty Beauty line last year, there was a collective whoop from people who could finally find foundation to fit their skin tone. Riri explained that she created the range “so that women everywhere would be included”, and she wasn’t messing around: there are a colossal 40 shades of Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation to choose from, modelled by the likes of Leomie Anderson and Slick Woods.
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear swiftly became one of the most sought-after foundations in the world, disproving the claim – long made by less-inclusive beauty brands – that darker foundations “don’t sell”. In fact, it was the darkest Fenty Beauty shades that sold out first and continue to fly off the shelves.
Due to enormous demand, popular Pro Filt’r shades are often hard to come by, made evident by customer tweets.
But fret not, because other brands are following suit and expanding their foundation colour ranges. Many of them use a different model for each shade, making it easier to work out your match if you’re shopping online.
Without further ado, here are five alternatives for those who can’t get hold of Fenty foundation.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Widely thought of as the best foundation in the business, this delivers medium, semi-matte coverage and is heat and smudge-proof – making it perfect for the summer months. It also includes SPF10, but we’d recommend using a separate sunblock that’s at least a SPF15 (higher if it’s particularly hot weather).
The website has clear swatches of each shade, or you can visit a counter and get colour-matched by a consultant.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation
This high street buy is ideal for oily skin types, working to reduce shine with blotting micro-powders, while blurring pigments minimise the look of visible pores and any pesky pigmentation.
It delivers coverage for up to 12 hours, with many reviewers holding it on a par with luxury brands for blendability and staying power.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick
This handbag-friendly stick foundation is great for using on the go, and boasts an award-winning ‘Smart Technology’ formula which adapts to moisturise or mattify when needed and allows coverage to be built from sheer to full.
The shades have been painstakingly formulated to mimic natural skin tones as closely as possible. We recommend visiting their counters to get matched, as the website doesn’t show individual models for every shade.
